Standing firm in power and pride, by Miss Hulse

Date: 2nd Feb 2026 @ 10:20am

We had a wonderful visit this morning, from the Shades from the Diocese. Their theme this year is 'Standing firm in power and pride. Standing firm on God's word and celebrate that we are all uniquely made in the image and likeness of God. Jesus stood firm in truth and justice, showing us how to live boldly, faithfully and in community with one another. We celebrate the stories of hope and courage, shining God's light with our Christian faith being the catalyst to lasting change.'

A fantasic Collective Worship, enjoyed by all!

It was a meaningful and uplifting experience enjoyed by children and staff alike.

DT: Planning and Making Boats, by Mrs Perry

Date: 29th Jan 2026 @ 8:49am

In Reception, our children love exploring how things work through hands-on play and investigation. As part of our learning, the children planned, designed and created their own boats using junk modelling materials such as boxes, bottles and cardboard.

The children talked about their ideas, chose materials carefully and worked together to build their boats. They then tested them in water, watching to see which boats floated and which sank. This led to lots of excitement, problem-solving and thoughtful discussions about why some designs worked better than others.

Through this activity, the children developed creativity, curiosity and early science skills, while also building confidence, teamwork and resilience. Most importantly, they had lots of fun learning through play!

Transient Art, by Mrs Perry

Date: 28th Jan 2026 @ 4:26pm

Transient art is a creative and playful way for children to explore art using natural and everyday materials such as leaves, stones, shells, fabric and loose parts. Children are encouraged to arrange, design and redesign their creations, developing imagination, problem-solving skills and fine motor control. Because transient art is temporary, there is no pressure to make a finished product, allowing children to express themselves freely, collaborate with others and enjoy the process of creating. This open-ended approach supports curiosity, communication and a love of learning while helping children to connect with the world around them

UTW: History, by Mrs Perry

Date: 28th Jan 2026 @ 4:20pm

The children have been learning all about growing up and the different stages of life. We talked together about what happens as we grow from a baby into a child, an adult, and an older person. The children enjoyed ordering pictures to create a human timeline, helping them understand how people change over time. This learning supported them in talking about themselves, their families, and how everyone grows and develops in different ways.

God's Creation Art Paintings, by Mrs Perry

Date: 28th Jan 2026 @ 4:05pm

In Art we have been learning to paint God’s beautiful creations. The children have enjoyed looking closely at nature, such as flowers, trees, and animals, and using different colours and brushes to show what they can see. Through painting, the children are learning to care for God’s world, share their ideas, and feel proud of the special artwork they create.
