Miss Kyte

Welcome to 2K

Please keep an eye on this page for updates throughout the year.

Welcome back to the second half of the Spring term! We have lots of exciting events planned for the children so keep your eyes peeled.

In Maths, we will start the term by focusing on measuring, ordering and comparing length and height. As always, we will be encouraging the practise and use of times tables – 2s, 5s and 10s.

In English, we will be focusing on the story 'Hansel and Gretel’. The children will be making predictions, exploring unfamiliar words, ordering the events of the story and answering comprehension questions.

In History, our topic is 'What was Rochdale's Role in the Industrial Revolution?’ Throughout this topic, we will be exploring what the industrial revolution is and its importance to modern society. We shall also investigate the local area.

Our Science topic is 'Living Things and their Habitats'. We will look at how to identify whether something is living, dead or never been alive using MRS GREN. Can you remember what this stands for?

In RE, we will be focussing on the topic 'Why does Easter matter to Christians?' Our learning will be focused around many ‘Big Questions’. We will also be exploring Holy week and the stories that tell us about this week within the Bible. We will look at how Christians celebrate this festival and why it is important to them.
