Year 6 Leavers' Service
Every year, the Year 6 children from St Peter’s Church of England Primary School attended the Leavers’ Service at Manchester Cathedral.
It is always a wonderful morning in which the Right Reverend Mark Davies, Bishop of Middleton and Chair of the Diocesan warmly greets the congregation. After this, there are lovely prayers, speeches and activities throughout the service and the message to pupils about how they will be moving on and using the values the children have learned to make positive contributions to their new schools.
The presentations given by pupils from our school and other schools about ‘Peace’, ‘Courage’ and ‘Service’ allow everybody to reflect on how these Christian Values can be applied to daily life.
As always, the children and staff look forward to the annual service where they can think fondly of the past and look to the future on their continuing journeys.
