Year 6 had a fantastic time at the IWMN on Monday, the children were very respectful and learnt a lot about rememberance.
4J's Visit to M6 with St Joseph's - November 2018, by Mr Jolly

Today, 4J went to M6 Theatre to meet with their linking school partner St Joseph's RC from Heywood. 4J had lots of fun and made many new friends. In the morning, 4J merged with Class 9 and found out similarities and differences between their partner and themselves through games. They then watched a play called Little Gift. After lunch, 4J and Class 9 were involved in a drama workshop.

As part ofour RE lessons we have been learning the Lord's Prayer.This was the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples I is found in the New Testament Matthew 6 Verse 9-13.

Year 6 had a really reflective visit to the Cenotaph on Oldham Road. The children laid their painted pebbles and said prayers to remember the fallen.

As part ofour RE lessons we have been learning the Lord's Prayer.This was the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples I is found in the New Testament Matthew 6 Verse 9-13.During reflection time we thought how this prayer links to what the soldiers did for us during World War One.

5N's Collect Worship was all about loyalty. We watched a video showing the Bible story of Jonah and the whale, and then answered questions relating to the story and theme. Finally, we sang 'I can see the golden sunshine'.

On Tuesday 6th November we had a fantastic day out to Manchester Airport. We learnt all about different types of aeroplanes and what materials are used to create aeroplanes. The children also had an opportunity to sit in the flight deck to imagine what it would be like to fly an aeroplane. We all had an amazing time!

On Thursday 1st November Reverend Stephen Watkinson came in to do a lovely collective worship with 4C. Stephen talked to us about our Christian Value this term, "Compassion." As always 4C listened very carefully and joined in with some very thoughtful answers. We shared prayers and ,moments of quiet reflection with Stephen.

Last Wednesday three children from 4C delivered a Class Collective Worship about Prayer to all of Year 4. This is linked to our R.E. theme, where we have been discussing all about why we pray,how we pray and what prayer means to us personally and spriritually. The children asked Mrs. Palmer questions about her Rosary beads that she uses when she says prayers.

On Thursday 1st November we had a fantastic day out at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester. We explored the Museum and had an exciting workshop called 'Little Inventors Wanted'. In the workshop we examined lots of different materials to use for a bike. We all had an amazing time and year 1 showed outstanding behaviour!

We really enjoyed perfoming our assembly to the school all about Harvest. We had a great first half term learning about where our food comes from, and why it is important to share with others. We even looked at different charities to see how they help others and wrote prayers to God to pray for people less fortunate than ourselves. We had lots of fun learning new songs and performing these.

Year 2 Butterfly Release - October 2018, by Miss Kyte

Over the last few weeks year 2 have been watching the metamorphosis of our caterpillars into butterflies. They have been kept in the classrooms in special butterfly nets whilst they transformed into the chrysalis and then into butterflies. We took the nets outside and released the butterflies one by one onto the Woodland Walk.
