Today we have the most amazing trip. We went to see the Lovell telescope at Jodrell Bank. We learnt so much information about Earth, Space and the planets! We went on a virtual tour of space in the Space Dome which was mindblowing!

Well done to all of the children who submitted their applications for the role of 3J's School Councillor. The children did really well to speak in front of their peers to explain why they wanted to be chosen.

We started the day by singing some campfire songs. We then went outside and made dens and toasted marshmellows to make s'mores. In the afternoon, we made a postive afformation bracelet.

3J vistited the Sealife centre and then played a variety of beach games and activities. They also had the opportunity to go paddling. 

3J's Clay Sculptures - May 25, by Mr Jolly

Today, we turned our sketch of a sculpture into a 3D model. We learnt how to make individual pieces, put them together and add addition details/facial features with tools.  To join sections together, we needed to score and criss cross each section and wet one side with slip (clay and water mix) and press them together. We then smoothed out the creases.

KS2 had a lovely reflective time completing our stations of the cross service. The children read prayers and were reminded about Jesus’ last journey before he died for our sins.

Church visits - April 2025, by Miss Hulse

We had a lovely church service this morning, thinking about forgiveness and the Easter story. We discussed if it is always easy to forgive in life and the children shared their thoughts on this. The children shared readings and read aloud some beautiful prayers that they had created.  

3J Tongue Twisters, by Mr Jolly

As a class we came up with the following tongue twisters. We then split off into small groups to perform them. 

Miss Boland bought a batch of big bouncy balls and those balls bounced as bouncy balls should bounce but the other bouncy balls didn't bounce as much as a bouncy, bouncy ball should bounce.

Mr M Jolly jumped onto a giant jellyfish that was as giggly as joyful jelly when the jelly was being jiggled. Then Mr Jolly jumped off the giant jellyfish into a giant pot of giggly, joyful, jiggly, jelly.

World Book Day 2025 - Everyone's Costumes!, by Mr Wood

Our school was filled with colour and creativity as staff and pupils dressed up as their favourite book characters for World Book Day! From classic literary heroes to modern favourites, the variety of costumes was truly impressive. Everyone put in a fantastic effort, bringing beloved stories to life with enthusiasm and imagination.

World Book Day 2025, by Mrs Bradley

The children had a fantastic World Book Day, inspired by the works of author Oliver Jeffers. They created some outstanding pieces of work based on Jeffers' book Stuck, and we couldn't help but wonder if Floyd, the character from the story, had visited our school after seeing what happened to our tree outside. Additionally, all the children arrived in school dressed in fantastic outfits, celebrating their love for books and creativity.
