Exploring Teen Numbers, by Mrs Perry

Date: 30th Apr 2026 @ 11:32am

In Reception, the children have been learning about teen numbers through simple games. We used a egg box as a ten frame by filling it with ten pon-poms so children can see a full ten. Then, extra pom-poms are added to show numbers like 11 or 15 as “ten and some more.” Playing games, such as rolling a dice and adding more objects, helped children understand teen numbers in a fun and practical way.
