Year 6 Leavers Mass, by Miss O'Regan

Year 6 had a wonderful afternoon at Manchester Cathderal to celebrate their Leaver's Mass. They reflected on their time at primary school and looked forward to their new adventure at high school. They worshipped, sang and danced all afternoon!

It was brilliant to head around the school and see how French is being taught across KS2. The children were enjoying different speaking, listening, reading and writing activities in their lessons. Tres bien Key Stage 2!

All children enjoyed their last visit to St Chad's Church for this academic year. The brilliant service, which was led by the Year 5 Worship Leaders, was all about the Holy Trinity. The children were great representatives of St Peter's.
Year 6 Transition Workshop, by Miss O'Regan

Year 6 enjoyed a brilliant workshop this morning. They discussed how anxiety can a helpful and unhelpful emotion and startegies they could use to help them when they are feeling anxious. They discussed 'what if' questions and how they could be prepared for their move to high school in September.

Year 6 had a wonderful time today planting in the growing beds. They used perseverance and teamwork to make sure the plants would grow with great success!

Year 6 have had the best time celebtrating St Peter's Day. We enjoyed delicous ice cream, watched the hilarious Mr Stix and reflected on who St Peter was.

During our R.E lesson, we discussed global cultural patterns and compared the world and UK religious data. After the lesson, we completed our reflection outside in the reflection area.

During our D.T lesson, we sent the children outside in small groups to investigate how controllable vehicle works and to give them inspiration for their own design.

As part of our geographt topic, we investigated how sustainable the school is, whilst walking around our school grounds. We then suggesting areas for improvement.

Year 6 have had a great week in maths! We have been completing maths challenges that have really stretched and challenged our thinking.

Yesterday, Year 6 really enjoyed taking part in 'Hot Seating'. We interviewed a witness from the crime scene, and thought about what questions we could ask. This will help us to write our newspaper reports later in the week.
Reverend Pam Whole School Collective Worship, by Miss O'Regan

This morning, Reverend Pam led our collective worship all about our Christian Value for this half term, service. We learnt about different types of service and agape. Reverend Pam told us the story of Ruth and we explored how this showed service to others. We also looked at the modern day example of Mother Teresa and how she showed service to so many different people.
Year 6 Sir David Attenborough Celebrations, by Miss O'Regan

Year 6 enjoyed their belated celebrations of Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday. They looked at the story of Marli's Tangled Tail and discussed how single use plastic can be damaging to our environment and wildlife and what alternatives and changes they could be. They practised narrating wildlife clips in the style of David Attenborough and created beautiful chalk artwork of Puffin skeletons.

Year 6 enjoyed their visit to church this morning to celebrate Holy Week and Easter.
They did readings about the Easter story, sang Easter hymns and read out their own prayers about this important season.

The Year 6 children had a fantastic time on their PGL Residential trip. They were brilliant representatives of St Peter's and were impeccably behaved.
They threw themselves into all the activities including: Zipwire, Canoeing, Climbing, Scooters and the Sensory Trail.
We are so proud of each and every one of them!

Year 1 had a fantastic time at the National Emergency Services Museum! We were able to learn lots of new and interesting information about the Great Fire of London. The children asked some excellent questions and had a super fun time.
