Sir David Attenborough Day!
Class: Year 4H Year: 2025 - 2026
Today we celebrated Sir David Attenborough's 100th Birthday! We started off with an assembly and then read a story 'Nelson's Dangerous Dive'. The story that year 4 read was about a whale and told us about the real life issues of ghost fishing nets! We spoke about these issues and looked at how the whale was feeling when he was trapped and when he was freed. We then completed some exciting activities linked to our whale story. We researched whale facts and created a fact file. We answered questions such as 'what do they eat?, how big do they grow?, how much do they weigh?, what is the lifespan of whales?. We then created some amazing documentaries of our own on imovie and created a voice over for one of the whale videos from one of David Attenborough's documentaries! We also created some lovely water-colour paintings today by painting one side of a whale. We also listened to the picture news live assembly celebrating Sir David Attenborough's birthday. We learnt lots today! Well done 4H!
