Sir David Attenborough 100th birthday celebrations
Class: Year 1KW Year: 2025 - 2026
On Friday, we celebrated the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough. We learned about who he is and all the wonderful things he has done to help save our planet and teach people how important it is to care for the Earth. We linked our learning to God’s creation, remembering that God created humans on Day 6 to look after and care for His wonderful world. Our learning also linked to the book Duffy's Great Escape, which tells the story of a sea turtle who ate a plastic bag in the ocean. Our classroom was transformed into an ocean and beach filled with rubbish that had been thrown into the sea. We created sea turtles using 2D and 3D shapes and went outside to learn about the life cycle of a sea turtle. We have all made a pledge to help save sea turtles and look after our planet.
