EYFS Christmas Production

Humph the grumpy camel normally shows not the slightest interest in anything. However, to everyone's surprise and delight, when he meets the new-born King he just can't contain his excitement and joy!

We enjoyed learning some new songs and their actions. Please have a browse through the photos taken from our performance on Wednesday!

BOOK WEEK!, by Miss Mather

On our first week back after the holidays it was book week. Each year group looked at different traditional tales and Nursery's was the Three Little Pigs. We had different activities out in the classroom and the children had so much fun building the three pig's houses, acting out the story with puppets as well as drawing and writing about the three pigs. Here are some pictures showing what our Nursery children did!

Visit to Church, by Miss Marney

Last week Reception and Nursery walked to Church for a celebration of our half term topic 'Courage'. The children listened to the Bible story of 'Daniel and the Lion'. They also took some prayers to go onto the prayer tree about how we can be brave. The children ended their visit to Church with their favourite song, 'Our God is a great big God.' Thank you to Vicar Stephen.

During Science week, we looked at the Theme Pirate Science. In Nursery we investigated floating and sinking, making boats in a group and checking if they floated.

On Friday 4th November Nursery and Reception had our own fireworks to celebrate Bonfire Night. Miss Crabtree and Miss Marney lit the fireworks and we all watched them.  afterwards we enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate to warm us up!

LOOKING AFTER OUR TEETH!, by Miss Mather

On the 3rd November we had a visit from a lady who brought her special friend in. She told us all about how to look after our teeth, making sure we brush them twice a day and eat the right foods to keep our teeth strong and healthy. We even got our own toothbrush and toothpaste!

The children had a wonderful time watching the fireworks on Bonfire Night.  After the fireworks we came back into school to warm up and had chocolate and parkin.  It was delicious.

The children all had a fantastic time on sports day.  They enjoyed taking part in a running race, sack race and egg and spoon race. All children tried their best and participated in all races.  Well done Nursery.

Funky Fingers and Dough Gym in Nursery - April 2015, by Miss Crabtree

Taking part in Funky Fingers and Dough Gym everyday has made a big impact on the childrens fine motor skills and they are making good progress.  This in turn has also improved the children’s writing and letter formation.  These activities take place for 3 minutes every day to music.  The children enjoy this time and often sing along with the song too!
