Transient Art, by Mrs Perry
Date: 28th Jan 2026 @ 4:26pm
Transient art is a creative and playful way for children to explore art using natural and everyday materials such as leaves, stones, shells, fabric and loose parts. Children are encouraged to arrange, design and redesign their creations, developing imagination, problem-solving skills and fine motor control. Because transient art is temporary, there is no pressure to make a finished product, allowing children to express themselves freely, collaborate with others and enjoy the process of creating. This open-ended approach supports curiosity, communication and a love of learning while helping children to connect with the world around them

The children enjoyed ordering pictures to create a human timeline, helping them understand how people change over time. This learning supported them in talking about themselves, their families, and how everyone grows and develops in different ways.
